"Gonesh" was painted for our 15th Wedding Anniversary, Saint Valentine's Day (Feb. 14th,) 2009. He is the Hindu elephant-headed God and son of Shiva, the Destroyer. Gonesh is the patron of good marriages, peaceful resolutions and negotiations, the marital bed and happiness. I updated him a bit, he's wearing a colorful abstract-patterned "belly shirt," earrings and glasses. But the overall pleasure I feel for Gonesh is in the painting.
